Tobi Amusan becomes first Nigerian to ever win gold as she breaks 100m hurdles world record (video)

In the competition held in Eugene, Oregon, in the early hours of Monday, July 25, Amusan also broke the world record in the semi-finals of the women’s 100m hurdles.

She initially caught the attention of people after running an incredible 12.40 seconds in the first round of the game on Saturday (Sunday morning in Nigeria).

Amusan then took it a step further by running an unbelievable 12.12 seconds in the semifinals, thus emerging the winner of that round.

Amusan then smashed her own record again in the finale by running 12.06 seconds but it was later ruled ineligible as the wind speed exceeded the legal limit.
